Water Testing Conection

1.Battery Recycling

2. Our group has already went to the office and asked to have a small recycling box for batterys placed in the office.  Secondly we asked them to make an announcement to recycle batterys so students know where to recycle dead batterys.  We also plan on creating posters and hanging them up around the school so students know where to put them if they dont listen to the announcements.

3.  For our bio bottle we our seeing the effect that batterys have on the economy.  The battery will hopefully effect the water bugs and algae at the bottom of the bottom thru the sponge. Secondly, it will allow me to see the effect that the battery has on the dirt portion of my bottle with the vegetable seeds.  If everything goes good it will allow us to see the harmful effect the battery's have on the earth if we don't recycle them.

4.  The river test is relative to the bio bottle due to the fact that we have actual river water inside the our bio bottle along with some bugs.  With both the bio bottle and the river we test the effects that different situations have on the water. If the battery was thrown in the river then the toxics would go into the water and effect the water life such as bugs and fish.

Eaton Rapids Water Treatment Center

Yesterday I went to the water treatment center with my friend Joseph but we had troubles finding it and had to turn around and go back to the highschool.  However students shared their experiences and told me a little about what they had learned.  There are 38miles of water pipe for the water to travel thru the city. The pipes are lined with phosphite. They're flouride in the water to allow our bones to get stronger.  In the center they have a lab to test the water in.  They're also a series of screens to examine the water. Hopefully next time ill get a chance to go so I can see it myself.
